Curtis Woodhouse has a remarkable story to share, transitioning from a professional footballer to a professional boxer and football manager. Curtis played as a central midfielder and competed as a light-welterweight boxer. He is a former British light-welterweight champion. His football career spanned nine seasons, including time in the Premier League with Birmingham City and four caps for the England U21 team. His professional boxing record stands at 29 fights, with 22 wins – 13 by knockout – and 7 defeats.

Curtis Woodhouse

Beginning his career at Sheffield United, where he became the club’s youngest-ever captain, Curtis later moved to Birmingham City in 2001 for a £1m fee. He went on to play for Peterborough United, Hull City, and Grimsby Town before retiring from football at the age of 26 to pursue a professional boxing career.

In 2006, Curtis secured his first professional victory, defeating Dean Marcantonio on points after knocking him down twice in the final round. Later that year, following a conviction for assaulting a police officer and a subsequent suspension of his boxing licence by the British Boxing Board of Control, Curtis returned to football by signing with Rushden & Diamonds.

Curtis won the British light-welterweight title in 2014 after defeating Darren Hamilton. Known for his outspoken nature, his autobiography – Box to Box: From the Premier League to British Boxing Champion – details his incredible journey through dual sporting careers.
