Ieuan transitioned to full-time professional rugby in 1996, playing for Llanelli Rugby Football Club before moving to Bath Rugby Football Club, where he enjoyed a successful stint, culminating in a European Cup Winners Medal before his retirement.
At international level, Ieuan holds nearly every record in Welsh rugby, earning an impressive 72 caps for Wales, with 28 of those as captain. He also set the record for the most tries in a single game with four tries and scored a total of 33 tries for his country, solidifying his place as one of the all-time greats in Welsh rugby.
Ieuan represented Wales in three Rugby World Cups and made seven appearances for the British Lions. He is a proud member of the elite group of Triple Lions Tourists, having toured Australia in 1989, New Zealand in 1993, and South Africa in 1997, where a groin injury sadly ended his trip prematurely.
