James is a former England rugby international whose career has spanned over 16 years at the top level of the game. As a talented flanker, he earned 77 international caps and played for some of the biggest rugby clubs in the world, making his mark at each stage of his career. In 2016, he moved to Northampton Saints, his sixth club, following successful stints at several leading teams.

Having represented England at all youth levels, James quickly rose through the ranks and earned his first international cap in the final match of the 2007 Six Nations against Wales. He was a key member of the 2011 Rugby World Cup squad, which reached the quarter-finals, and again featured in the 2015 Rugby World Cup team.
James is also a two-time British and Irish Lion, earning the title of Man of the Series during the 2013 Lions tour of Australia, where they won the series 3-0.
