Jason Leonard OBE

Harlequins regular since the 1990/91 season and England's most capped forward, with 97 caps.

Jason began his rugby journey at Barking RFC before moving to Saracens, where he played an instrumental role in helping the club win the Courage League Division Two title in the 1989/90 season.

After representing England Colts, Jason earned ‘B’ caps against Fiji and France ‘B’, and in 1990, he was called up to the senior England squad for a tour of Argentina, where he played in both tests. The following season, Jason made a pivotal move to Harlequins, where he became a regular in the team.

Jason went on to become England’s most capped forward with 97 caps, showcasing his exceptional skills and leadership on the field. In 1992, he was forced to take a brief hiatus due to a ruptured disc in his back, but after successful surgery and just three months of recovery, he returned to play for England without missing a match.

Jason’s resilience was evident when he captained the England side during the 1996/97 season, scoring his first and only international try against Argentina.
