The pint-sized assassin is easily one of the best wingers in world rugby and one of the best Welsh rugby players of all time.

Shane Williams, known for his diminutive stature and explosive pace, is undoubtedly one of the finest wingers in world rugby and a true Welsh rugby legend. Nicknamed the “pint-sized assassin,” his impact on the game has been immense. With 58 caps for Wales, Williams scored 215 points and became the all-time highest Welsh try scorer, amassing 43 tries and counting.

A dynamic player renowned for his dazzling runs, incredible side-step, and blistering pace, Shane made his international debut at just 21 years old and quickly became a fan favourite. He was instrumental in Wales’ 2005 RBS Six Nations campaign, scoring tries against England, Italy, and Scotland. That same year, he toured with the British & Irish Lions to New Zealand, earning one cap and setting a Lions record by scoring five tries in a single game against Manawatu.

Shane began his career as a scrum half with Amman United before moving to Neath, and eventually to the wing. He enjoyed a stellar regional career with the Ospreys, making 68 appearances and scoring 27 tries.

In the 2007 Rugby World Cup, Shane was a standout performer, scoring six tries and finishing as joint third highest try scorer of the tournament. His brilliant performances continued into the 2008 RBS Six Nations, where he played a pivotal role in Wales’ Grand Slam campaign, scoring an impressive six tries and setting a new Six Nations try-scoring record.
