Starting his rugby journey at Durham University, Ben quickly progressed to the professional ranks, joining the Newcastle Falcons in 2003. Although a serious leg injury saw him take an eighteen-month break, he made a strong return and established himself in the Falcons’ first team.
In 2008, Ben moved to Leicester Tigers, where he quickly won the admiration of fans and teammates alike. His leadership qualities were recognised in 2011, when he was appointed captain of the Tigers. Under his captaincy, the team triumphed in the LV Cup, defeating Harlequins in a thrilling final.
A major career highlight for Ben was representing England in the Churchill Cup in 2006 and 2007, showcasing his talents on the international stage. Though his career was cut short by injury, Ben’s contributions to Newcastle Falcons and Leicester Tigers remain an enduring legacy in English rugby.
